Concept
The final concept is an installation consisting of two panels in the form of half circles. Each half-circle panel has a curved screen along its whole length and width, both on the inside and the outside. On the ground, there are pressure sensitive steps in the form of footprints.
The installation is meant for two people. Before they enter, a poster explains the idea and campaign behind it and what to do next.
Upon entering, each person turn towards their half of the circle. On the inside screen of their half-circle panel, they will see a paused video of a dancer. When they place their feet on the first footprints, the dancer in the video will perform the first movement of a sequence. Every step the two people take, the dancer will advance in the sequence. This way, the footprint and video guide the participants to perform the sequence.
While all of this is happening, a combination of the pressure sensitive footsteps and full-body motion tracking turns the participants’ movements into an artwork. The artwork will be displayed on the inside screen, behind the video of the dancer and the outside screen, visible to the public, will show traces of previous artworks, sparking curiosity in passerby's.
Each duo of dancers, get a random color for their artwork, selected from five different options.
After completing the dance sequence, the visitors are greeted by one last screen in which they can choose to print their personal artwork or a code linking to their artwork on a website that collects all of the artworks. In this website they can also find an explanation about the color and emotion behind the moves they did.

The Challenge
How might we facilitate an intimate yet lighthearted connection between the dance, the performers, and the audience?
